Horological History is a passion project dedicated to keeping the tradition of horology alive. We do this by preserving clock- and watchmaking books.

For centuries, horology has been at the center of innovation, intertwining the arts and the sciences. The mechanical timekeeper—a marvel resulting from the labor of countless craftsmen—is nothing short of awe-inspiring. The humble part we play is that of archivist. Every book is reproduced and restored with the utmost care and attention, ensuring that the spirit of each work is preserved for future generations.

I believe the watchmaking knowledge of the past is best preserved through freedom of access. For this reason, we offer a completely free digital edition of every book we publish. We will never employ DRM or any other malicious rights-management practices to deny access to our work.

As you might imagine, restoring books is time-consuming work. If you like the project, please consider buying a book, becoming a Patreon supporter, or simply spreading the word. Your contributions help preserve horological history.
